The Soul of Photography
Photographers and photography can be complex and complicated. Most people think that they are synonymous, but both can live in two different worlds at the same time. Like I said, it’s complicated. However, what I like about photography is that the world gets the opportunity to see what the photographer sees, what the photography textbooks call the “photographer’s eye”.
Sometimes photographers will reveal what he (or she wants you to see; while at other times, he will forget that he is working, and shows the world his soul thru one photo. That’s why this Blog page is called “Photography, a whole new world”. I just don’t want to share my photos with you; I want to share my soul.
I also want you to understand that there’s no such thing as a bad Photographer, just bad photos. And a photographer doesn’t have to be Fashion Photographers or News Photographers to get respect; the science of photography will allow all photographers, both amateur and professional, to have his/her own voice. Instead of searching for respect in the field of photography, strive to develop your own voice, to show the world what is in your soul?
This first photo that I will share with the world is a simple, but strange one. It appears to just be a photo of a sand crab, but if you look closer, you will see a crab that actually decided to stand up to me and the camera. I cornered the crab, so that he had nowhere to go.

He blinked and raised this back at me, and then he charged straight for me. When he got inches from my sandaled toes, he quickly made a left turn and made his getaway. This crab was pretty fast; he jetted out of there.

So, the next time you see a simple (or not so great) photo, I want you to use your imagination and think about the photographer’s story behind the photo.
I would make it more challenging for you by saying that I’ll give $100 to the first person that can identify the beach where I took the photos of the sand crab, but I can’t do that because I’m a poor photographer. I’m in that elite group of photographers that make peanuts for a living. Like the artist of the 17th and 18th century, my work will not be appreciated until after I'm died. But just for fun, you should still try to identify the Beach anyway. Post a comment and I’ll let you know if you are right.
By the way, you do have to subscribe to my blog, by just sending me your email address, then you can comment away. If you write a negative comment, you will not get an response from me; I want only positive people in my life, so I don't respond to negativity.
Also, I do plan to change out the banner on this page soon! So, please return to my blog page in a couple of days to see the exciting banner I have been working on!
Have a great week everyone!
